Bizarre Politics Reports: American Dream Shattered
Once upon a time in America, the USA was all about a 30 year mortgage with a low interest rate. Youngster graduated from High School or College and look forward to enjoying the American Dream. The minimum expectations were to own a decent home, be able to afford a family, have a good job, decent living standards, safe neighborhoods with doors unlocked and retirement with dignity. Little did they know that something was going to shattered those dreams.

The American Dream is Burning
American Dream is Burning in the fields of broken dreams

Free Trade and the Contract with America came with a Democrat President, Democrat Congress and Republican Conservatives joining together to break the back of the USA outside the will of the people.

Elite groupings coupled with government decided to move factories from the USA to the third world debtor nations, employ cheap labor, bring the finished goods back to America and extract loan payments through extra manufacturing profits. Wall Street and the junk-bond boys joined the game where work and labor was devastated in a new surge of raw Capitalism. This bipartisan betrayal started with Richard Nixon and accelerated by Jimmy Carter, then the Reagan/Bush team put it on a faster pace. Clinton came and joined with Gingrich and Dole and set the betrayal on warp speed. The inner cities became graveyards where once awesome industrial power provided the good life since the second world war. Foreclosures start breaking records in the 1990s and went out of control in 2000s. The same applied to bankruptcies, the need for emergency food and the prison population. A working poor class was set in place in a field of broken dreams. An under class was exposed in New Orleans after the hurricane hit with everyone knowing the same could apply to most major cities in the USA.

John Perkins provides more of the causes in his book The Confessions of an Economic Hit Man but only a few have read it so far. He reveals the dark side in the global economic arena.

The people we call the "gray people" now come up and down the streets searching the garbage and refuse on collection day for ways to make a few dollars.

It is a quiet time before the storm. People are beginning to realize they have been betrayed but the solidarity of protest is yet to come because at this time most are too busy just finding ways to survive. In the silent depression of our times with make believe unemployment reporting, there is new class warfare. Free Trade has provided a better life for the top 20 percent at the expense of the bottom 60 percent. History tells us what happens when this imbalance exists. So far the Clinton and Bush Wars have hidden the betrayal of workers and the government employs many to keep more quiet. 46 percent of the AFL-CIO members are now government workers. Only about 15 percent are private sector production workers. The rest are primarily retail workers. This mix will not be able to support conditions much longer and it is only a matter of time before we all will feel the full effects of the great betrayal of our times including many on top. The new "ism" of Globalism has arrived without advanced announcement. It is here among us undefined but soon will be exposed for what it is. It is time to prepare for the post-Globalization era where a new global solidarity will arise to combat the greed of a few. And no one will call it "protectionism". Lech Walesa says it all. He led the Solidarity movement in Poland that played a major part in the downfall of the Soviet empire. He says - I am only a consumer and know very little about business and economics but I do know something is very wrong when 10 percent of the population, owns 100 percent control of the wealth.
