The Clinton Years - American Dream Reversed
The Clinton Years, The American Dream Reversed artwork by Ray Tapajna reflects the most massive dislocation of jobs in U.S. history when millions lost their jobs while President Clinton proclaimed prosperity. The unemployment rates did not reflect the situation and a working poor class was set in place.
The artwork depicts Clinton playing his saxophone with the letters "is" in the horn. During his impeachment process, he defended himself by saying it all depends on what your meaning of "is" is. His definition extended to his interpretation of prosperity. As we know now after Hurricane Katrina exposed a vast underclass , there is a continuing silent depression ignored by leaders like President Clinton. History will show it was a Democrat President and Democrate controlled Congress that passed the unfair NAFTA and GATT trade agreement which consummated Free Trade as a tool of Globalization . And Hillary Clinton and Alan Greenspan were there touting the same thing.
