This follows our Primitive thinking in modern times post. The French told the U.S. to stay out of Vietnam and that limited wars were outdated. They left Vietnam for that reason. The U.S. ignored their example and went in.

The elder President Bush broke the tradition of the Democrats being the war party. He also was the first President in modern times to announce the New World Order as if to prepare Americans for their further fate in the global economic arena. After World War 2, I attended Council on World Affairs meetings and the term New World Order was used but it carried a different connotation. It was a term separating the Isolationists from the Internationalists. This was a time prior to the assault of globalization that driven by elite powers in government, big business, big money, the media and in universities.
The elder President Bush supported both Saddam Hussein and Bin Ladin. The elder Bush not only allowed Iraq to use so called "Weapons of Mass Destruction", but he helped supply Iraq with the components in their war against Iran. In our City of Cleveland, we even had a munitions related factory under the direct control of the Iraq government. There were also all kinds of bank deals that a former Congressmen exposed and put much of the information about the Bush family dealings in the Congressional Record. There was a scarcastic comment on the internet that gave a profound statement about these dealings. The commentator said, President Bush the 2nd knew that Iraq had Weapons of Mass Destruction, because his family had receipts for them. This may closer to the truth than we care to know.
Apparently, Saddam Hussein was led to believe the USA would not stop his invasion of Kuwait but he was mistaken. President Bush the first , initiated the Desert Storm war to counter the invasion. The U.S. military buried up to 50,000 Iraqi soldiers in the sand with earthmoving equipment while many were still alive. After the fighting stopped, the U.S. bombed Iraq on a consistent basis in violation of the cease fire agreement. In addition, the USA sanctions against Iraq directly or indirectly cost the lives of many innocent children in Iraq. In the USA, there we thousands of Desert Storm veterans suffering and dying from the so called Desert Storm War syndrome with the U.S. government denouncing it as a fact. It was a fact supported by many experts. However, when the second invasion of Iraq came, the many reports of these health problems vanished from the press. Most likely it will take another ten years to sort out the details of both the first and second wars with Iraq relating to this syndrome of these deseases.
People tend to forget that President Clinton had his own "Wag the Dog" wars and even bombed aspirn factories. He led the U.S. into war in the Balkans, to supposedly stop the ethic cleansing and the killing of innocent people but in the end his wars created more ethic cleansing with more than 750,000 Serbians and Gypsies being forced to flee for their lives
to Belgrade and Kosovo. Then both regions were bombed by the U.S. President Clinton admitted he used the Social Security funds to fight the war but this action gained very little attention in the press. In the end , the U.S. just set up another historic trigger in the Balkans for things to erupt again. President Obama has installed some of the same people who led the U.S. into the Balkan wars.
Then came the young George Bush. He said Jesus was his favorite philosopher when he ran for president while he was preparing for the new war with Iraq. And people wonder why people in the Middle East react the way they do with America. President George Bush led the U.S. into an unjust war breaking all historical views on U.S. conduct in wars. He took over more powers than perhaps any other U.S. presidents. He had a massive press campaign to instigate a pre-emptive war based on Iraq having Weapons of Mass Destruction while top weapons inspectors contradicted him for years. Saddam got rid of the weapons in 1992.
This happened while the U.S. and China lead the way in the supply of most weapons in the world with the third world countries lining up to buy these weapons on a continous basis with the IMF and other international funds playing a big part in the financing. President Bush hid the U.S. economic problems under the cover of his pre-emptive war. The unemployment rate was fiction. Bankruptcy rates were breaking all records. The Trade Deficit wa breaking records too. A working poor and under class was installed in the U.S. after President Clinton established Free Trade agreements that caused the most massive dislocation of workers in U.S. history including the Great Depression. The call for emergency food broke all records too. President Bush the 2nd's answer to all this was pre-emptive wars while our economy based on making money on money instead of making things was burning out.
After all this, you would think the American people would wake up to the facts of live but they have not. Now they listen to President Obama who bails out Big Money as he skips over the suffering of millions of Americans in his new version of a Trickle down stimulus plan that will never reach the bottom. President Reagan first introduced a Trickle down economy that never worked from his raw Capitalist approach and now we have Presidetn Obama's version from a Big Government approach with Big Money and Big Government merging as one. Obama beefed up the military for a long war in Afghanistan while the lessons of history tells us the U.S. will leave with things most likely worst than ever.
