Good Jobs First Research Center provides a list of foreign auto assemblers who were paid and given many incentives to build their assembly plants in various states. Here is the list portraying the betrayal of American workers
Good Jobs First Org, Research Center Good Jobs First, has issued this list of foreign auto assemblers who received pre-paid deals before building their assembly plants in the USA. It adds up to $3.6 Billion Dollars. Senators from some of these states, are denying help to our own American auto-makers and actual manufacturers using American made components too. Most of the foreign auto assemblers use components coming from the underclass workers of the world. One state even built a 40 million dollar airplane runway for one of the foreign assemblers.

As elected officials debate aid for the Big 3, taxpayers have the right to know the full extent of government involvement in America's auto industry," said Greg LeRoy, GJF's executive director. "And while proposed federal aid to the Big 3 would take the form of a loan, the vast majority of subsidies to foreign auto plants were taxpayer gifts such as property and sales tax exemptions, income tax credits, infrastructure aid, land discounts, and training grants," he said.

These data, drawn primarily from contemporary media accounts, are very conservative. They do not account for inflation; some would be worth far more in today's dollars. They do not include any estimate of subsidies granted to hundreds of foreign-owned auto supply companies that have located in the same areas, virtually all of which were also heavily subsidized. Finally, they do not reflect later news accounts, which often place higher subsidy values.

* Alabama paid Mercedes Bentz $253 million- this adds up to a cost of $153,000 to $220,000 per job. Alabama also agreed to buy 2,500 cars from the company and gave them land that was worth about $250 million dollars -
