Free Trade Hits Home and moves millions to the under class or working poor class Ray Tapajna Chronicles and Tapsearch Com sites.

Too many people in America are suffering from the effects of free trade and globalization. For some reason this discussion is left out of any debate about cutting welfare. Why anyone would want to destroy the middle class in the USA is unbelievable. Now a new working poor class is in place with no one telling us why, what, when, where etc. that this had to happen. It is obvious that free trade did not evolve in any natural fashion and was pushed by powerful elite forces outside the will of the people.

We repeatedly, tell everyone that free trade is not trade as historically practiced. It is primarily about moving production from place to place for the sake of cheaper labor costs. The geopolitical balances are disrupted and with every factory or farm that is closed down, a burn out community is left behind.

Under these conditions, the real free enterpise system is smashed. It becomes a problem for all of society to help those who have suffered the consequences of free trade. Millions have lost their jobs in the most massive dislocation of jobs in U.S. history.

A group of Catholic professors confronted the Republic leader in the House and asked Rep. John Boehmer to reconsider cuts in social welfare programs.

This happens while a conservative editorial page editor tells about a wonderful college where his daughter was graduating from. The Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio represents one the best Catholic universities in the USA. However, even this school is out of touch with an ethical response to free trade and globalization that stole millions of jobs away. The degradation of human dignity in the workday is obvious but no one seems to want to talk about it. Pope Leo's encyclical - Rerum Novarum - stood the test of time for more than a 100 years. It proved to be a standard for workers who wanted to form unions. In recent years, Rerum Novarum has been thrashed by even people of good will who think free trade and globalization are something good even though they see millions of their neighbors losing their jobs and homes.

How can anyone expect anything good to come from a vast working class that makes only about $8 per hour. How can anyone expect anything good to happen when a single mother making only about $100 a month is considered employed. The private sector production workers unions are virtually gone. Only about 15 percent of the CIO AFL membership are private sector production workers. When conservative talk about unions they leave out this fact.

How can anyone refuse to consider the suffering of so many people.

President Obama came and bailed out big money while ignoring the suffering of millions of workers and unemployed workers.

The Conservatives come and take over Congress and put forth new cuts in welfare.

Instead of questioning the Catholic professors who asked the Speaker of the House to reconsider the cuts, everyone should look at the reality of what will happen if they don't. In the old days, those on welfare were told to get a job. Today there are few living wage jobs out there. Both liberals and conservatives are at fault.
