Bizarre Politics Reports: Gore is not Green
Here is another untold story behind the news relating to former Vice President Al Gore winning the Noble Peace Prize for his stand on saving the environment. He is a Globalist Free Trader. Globalization and Free Trade has done more harm to the world's environment than anything else.

Here is something to think about. ShipGreen net site a new Colorado software company has launched a new program that lets consumers find out how much greenhouse gases it takes to deliver certain products. It then tells you how much more you need to spend to reduce the same amount of emmissions somewhere else. This is only the beginning in calculating the consumption of energy and the cost to a green earth by long haul ocean, air, rail and truck plus the extra energy consumed for protective packaging.

In our city, the Mayor is dedicating his efforts to having energy saving utilities within a few years using wind and solar power. At the same time, he celebrated the opening of a Wal-Mart store in graveyard of the steel industry that once employed thousands of middle-class workers. ( 6000 people applied for about 400 jobs that pay only near minimum wage - but that is another untold story, we will tell later. ) ( In Chicago, 40,000 applied for only about 700 jobs at two new Wal-Marts near Chicago.) ( A 1000 more in Cleveland, applied for only 42 new jobs in the small steel mill closeby. ) Someone should ask our Mayor what it takes to supply Wal-Mart in terms of energy and greenhouse gases. Someone should ask Gore too. Gore is not only not Green but he also played a big part in the de-industrialization of America.

We wonder how many ships, trains and trucks does it take to supply this store for a year with most of the products coming from faraway places like China. ( We will tell this untold story in another post too - Wal-Mart and Home Depot push the 8000 mile energy saving light bulb as a way to conserve energy but they never talk about what it takes in getting the bulbs to America from China 8000 miles away.

Al Gore was Vice President while President Clinton went out of his way in destroying local value added manufacturing who submitted to the strong regulations regarding polllution. We recently made a list of the larger manufacturers that no longer exist in our city. The number is well over fifty that once employed thousands of middle class workers in a local setting.

The IUE-CWA Union had a full page ad in the Cleveland Plain Dealer saying "Green Technology shouldn't mean a Pink Slip for American Workers. I wish they would have also noted the above about questional "dirty manufacturing" abroad where U.S. companies went outside the USA to escape the environmental regulations in the USA. ( We will talk more about in our next posts about The Dark Side of Energy Saving LIght Bulbs and the darker story behind them. ) or you can go to Really Long Link Really Long Link and Really Long Link now for most of the story. The energy saving light bulbs are only one example.

Someone should ask Al Gore about some of these terrible happenings in our times due to Globalization and Free Trade. Someone should ask our Mayor how many ships, planes, trains, trucks etc can we substitute to save our city in terms of saving energy in restoring our local value added economies close by.
