The purple issues and a cruel tax

November 29th 2010 18:39
Bizarre Politics Reports: Tax cuts will not work if any of the extra money is spent at the retail level because the money quickly fans out to the places where the products are made and do not stay in the U.S. to grow our economy. And payroll taxes add to the problem when those who make the things we use do not pay them.
At The Rationale.Com read how the distinction of red states and blue states as Republican or Democrat controlled leaves out the fact that both major parties in the U.S. act as one in the global economic arena.
COLOR: - Color all red and blue states purple

The government and polticians act as a brokers and dealers for free trade that is not really trade. As our economy based on making money on money instead of making things is burning out, as the politicians now talk about news ways of raising taxes. The talk about a national sales tax or taxes on consumption which will act as real tariffs on products. Politicians openly tell us that this tax could be as high at 23 percent on the goods we use.

The cruelest tax acts as a tariff on work and labor -by Ray Tapajna

And the cruelest tax of all will remain. The payroll tax now acts as a flat tax on the working poor. It is also a heavy overhead for the U.S. to compete with countries that do that have it. Since 1950, the payroll tax has climbed up from 3 percent to 15.3 percent. Payroll taxes now bring in nearly as much money as income tax. Three out of four workers, about 70 percent of workers, pay more in payroll taxes than income tax. While those who make money on interest income, do not pay payroll tax on the amount of money they make on interest.

Sadly, even an independent worker making only about $10,000 a year pays more than $1,200 dollars in payroll, state and local taxes. This a flat tax on the working poor. They have to pay 100 percent of it on the very first dollar they make. It should be noted that President Reagan and a Democrat Congress increased the payroll tax rate to a total of $15.3 percent. It was not a red state or blue state issue. It was a purple issues with both parties participating in its increase. It too acts as a tariff on American workers since companies save money by moving their production to places that do not have the tax.

A college president complained he had to turn away 80 out of 1000 needy students since his college had to pay the payroll tax on work study programs.
If this happens with college programs, just think how much more the ratio increases on all labor itself.

And especially note that the payroll tax is used just like the income tax in the general fund. President Clinton even admitted using Social Security funds to conduct his wars in the Balkans

We will continue to explore this cruel tax further in following posting at Bizarre Politics with untold stories behind the news.
