PolitiFacts This:

August 27th 2010 17:18
Bizarre Politics Reports: Our top newspaper in Ohio has a PolitiFact feature that rates statements and reports as true or false. However someone shoul PolitiFacts their PolitiFacts methodology. We try to do it here a Bazarre Politics
By Ray Tapajna who was an insurance investigator full time and on contract basis for years. He also debugged computer operating systems, wrote on error recovery codes and was a troubleshooter supplyer to major industrial corporations for many years

POLITIFACTS should be POLITIFACTS itself -
( Again, it is about unemployment reporting in the USA )

The Cleveland Plain Dealer, top newspaper in Ohio, rates the veracity of a statement by Rep. John Boehner, House minority leader who states -
"This is the first time since the Depression that unemployment has stayed above 9 percent for two consecutive years." ( Article by Louis Jacobson)
Plain Dealer's PolitiFact scores this statement as false. However, again, their sources are questionable and this PolitiFact should be PolitiFacts too.

Consider the following:

POLITIFACTSING PolitiFact:

Anyone with a little of investigative experience, knows that the unemployment reporting is inconsistent with the past with millions missing in action from any kind of reporting. I invite you to PoliFact this. Only about 38 percent of all workers qualify for unemployment insurance which means about 62 percent are in limbo.I have yet to read any breakdown of who and what 62 percent of our workers are doing.

Furthermore, in the Great Depression, many more lived off the land and so it is difficult to compare any stats to that era as the Plain Dealer does. However after that and for many years unemployment reporting was primarily based on full time 40 an hour a week jobs. The reporting methods changed radically in the past twenty-five years to include most any kind of work even if .....

Today even a single mother making only a hundred dollars a month is considered employed. With so many part time and temp jobs, no one knows how many people have two or more of these jobs at one time. There are no reports on how many of these jobs are considered individually counted jobs.

For years the term underemployment was used in many instances but now has lost any real meaning. Getting America Working told America a few years ago that 50 percent of all human resources in America was not being used. There were other reports too that still apply. One said that 50 percent of the young blacks in our inner cities are unemployed. One of the most heart breaking stat is the prison population that keeps breaking records and of course this number is outside of any unemployment reporting.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics finally admitted a few years ago that millions who gave up looking for work were not part of their statistics. For years, the term underemployment was used but now has faded away because the statistical collection by the Bureau of Labor Statistics now include the $100 a month workers as being employed.

Another stat that was reported years ago told us that 50 percent of all workers more than 55 who lost their jobs never found another one. I have yet to find out how the Bureau of Labor Statistcs come up with their numbers and especially the ones they use for general release to the news media. I understand they have about six methods of data collection but the main one is where they call about 50,000 households a month and ask the person who answers the phone if they were looking for a job in the past month. If the person says no, they are considered employed. Reportedly, a person who is seeking employment and says they are working on their family farm or in their family business wthout pay are still considered employed. I invite PolitiFact to PolitiFact all of the above before they score who is lying and who is not about our unemployment. It is impossible to compare much of any reporting with the past. Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans exposed a vast underclass living in a silent depression and this tragedy was not only isolated to that area but existed across our land.

The news media and our political leaders still hide from these stories.

POLITIFACTS This: The USA really has a 25 percent or more unemployment rate if compared to our employment records in several periods in recent history.

I worked in four different factories while going to college full time in the 1950s. If these jobs were available today, there would be millions across our land standing in line to get them including college graduates and ....this is an objective truth.
