Can you hear us now? When will the Free Traders tell the facts.

Can you hear us now? Economic crisis is not something new.

The economic crisis was among us for many years. Prior to 1990, more than 400,000 workers lost their jobs in the auto and related industries. More than 700,000 workers lost their jobs in the steel and related industries. During the 1990s, more than a million workers lost their jobs in the computer industry. The two major parties ignored it.

Globalization, Free Trade and the Trade Deficit are direct causes of our economic crisis. You can have Tea Party protests forever but nothing much will come out of them until we address the real causes. We provided a list of these causes in our last post. We had the Taxpayer Party which evolved into the Constitional Party and I voted for both the last four presidential election. Where were the Tea Party advocates all those years. President Clinton proclaimed prosperity while millions were losing their jobs in the most massive dislocation of workers in U.S. history including the Great Depression. ( We posted a list of jobs lost and company closedowns in 1998 in past posts.)

We continously reported that the U.S. Federal Government sponsored the moving of factories outside of the USA starting in1956 and no one seems to ask why this happened. Only a few responded to this massive betrayal of workers in U.S. history. You do not need any conspiracy theories to know the Free Trade was driven by powerful forces and did not evolve in any natural economic fashion.

No one seems to ask either why Free Trade is called trade if it is primarily based on moving production from place to place for the sake of cheaper labor costs. I just read a naive column by a Charles Krauthammer from the Washington Post. He worries about protectionism that never really happened. It was always about a money crisis and never about trade.

He further writes about the curtailing of Mexican trucks into the U.S.A caused Mexico to retalitate with tariffs on 90 goods affecting the $2.4 billion in U.S. trade coming out of 40 states. The U.S. trade deficit with Mexico is about 7 times more. Prior to the passing of NAFTA , there was no trade deficit

He does not tell readers that the U.S. moved more than 4,000 U.S. factories to Mexico
with more than 2,000 being moved since NAFTA was passed in 1994. He tells us about the trade going to Mexico - but many of these so called exports are parts and components going to factories that once were in the USA. He neglects to tell the readers about the massive Trade Deficit with Mexico especially since NAFTA was passed. The same corrlelation can be compared to all trade deals around the world. He says we need to avoid a trade war. How can there be a war when it is reall the war is over and the other side has won.

Let's face facts. When the U.S. had tariffs, we did not need any income taxes. Now in effect tariffs have been taken off goods and put on work. The main commodity being traded are workers and not goods. As Globalization and Free Trade developed our economy became one that was based on making money on money instead of making things. It did not last because the value of labor is a very important value and as this value deflated , the value of paper money was challenged too.

We do not need any conspiracy theories to know that Globalization and Free Trade have been driven by powerful forces and did not evolve in any natural economic fashion. This elite force has resided in government , big business, big money, news media and in the educational community. They preached something that never existed. The Great Depression was never about trade. It was about a money crisis just like today. When money is used up by transnational greed, trade becomes scarce too just like it did prior to World War 2. It took the Lend Lease Act and World War 2 to change things.

We now have had a series of Presidents who played major parts in the transfer of values and making workers the real commodities in any trade function. The elder President Bush announced the New World Order and put Globalization and Free Trade in overdrive. President Clinton consummated the elder Bush's established programs. President Bush the second came and followed in Clintons footsteps and it is now obvious the baton has been passed on to President Obama as he continues the bail out of big money stepping over all those who suffered during the Free Trade attack on workers. The bail outs are all about an economy based on making money instead of making things with workers as the commodities. Protests about taxes and leaving out the real causes are doomed to failure.

It is obvious taxes take the place of lost values due to the Trade Deficits and act as tariffs on work. The payroll tax acts as a flat tax on the working poor causing factories to be moved outside the U.S. to avoid this overhead.

Nothing wil happen until a populist conservative starts talking like Congressman Kucinich when he ran for President twice. He used the right language that should be used now. He continuously uttered the terms NAFTA, GATT, CAFTA and the WTO as being a cause of our economic decline that now has turned into a disaster. As long as these words and terms are omitted from any discussions about our economic mess, nothing much will really happen. President Obama's programs are mostly duds. They are actually a ponzi scheme and used to bail out big money with small money from the future.

The only thing that will work is to restore the Free Enterprise system based on local value added economies which grow values from the raw product stage up through to retail. Obama's money is funny money and it is fed into the public sector and not the private sector. It is like a dog chasing its own tail.
