It is better than Politifacts fact finders. At least we get a perspective rather than declared facts that are not really unfolded. However it is still "white-out journalism" - that blocks out the reality of the streets in the USA as people and workers living out the economic crisis. Suffering workers are on their own since President Obama chose trickle down ways to restore the economy. He bailed out big money changers who caused the problems and put them back in charge. Meanwhile workers are waiting and waiting for relief to come. The false unemployment rate masks the reality of the streets.
The main question of our times goes unanswered... Who said we had to compete like this in a global economic arena with each other for the same jobs here....and who started Free Trade and why?
Historically, " yellow journalism " created news stories to foster some cause outside the will of the people.
Today, they work it a little differently, they just "white out" the parts of the truth and core of the issues. The statisitics do not compare with the past while the news channels keep comparing them as if they correlate with past reporting.
Most newspapers seem to be pro free trade and have a globalization mentality
just like our government . There is really only one political party in the U.S.A and it should be called the Free Trader or Money Changer party. Big government as married big money and no one in the news want to talk about it. It is " white-out journalism" -
The news also covers events by time intervals of elections and never get to the cause and effect of our economic mess and the betrayal of American workers.
The unemployment reporting does not match up with the real world of the streets. It does not match up to the way unemployment was recorded years ago. Getting America Working reported that 50 percent of American human resources was not being used more than ten years ago. The same applys today.
Only 38 percent of all workers in America qualify for unemployment insurance. The term underemployment has lost its meaning. The terms part-time, casual labor, contract workers, leased workers, temporary help workers and independent workers have slid into a job crisis. The fact is that about 62 percent of all workers are missing in action as to a defintion of where they are and what they are actually doing.
The news keeps using the data the government gives them to recite increases in this or that but nothing much has changed for many years. My articles from ten years ago can be published again and no one would know it unless I told them. The core of our econmic crisis centers around the Clinton years when Pres. Clinton pushed the passing of NAFTA and GATT trade agreements which were more about exporting jobs than about real world trade. Factories and production have been moved from place to place for the sake of cheaper labor. Components being shipped to factories that once resided in the USA are called exports. In the 1990s, the U.S.A went through the most massive dislocation of jobs in history but no one covered this story. Instead, they passed on the lies about President Clinton proclaiming prosperity. The Republicans never challenged free trade as a cause of our economic crisis. I have several sites with lists of company close downs and the massive lost of jobs during the 1990s. The news channels were silent about it back then and still are today. The value of stocks flourished then as it does today based on workers getting fired instead of hired. This is happening as Main Streets of our country are bailing out Wall Street.
At the same time, our news channels report decreases and increases in employment by minute degrees that do not add up with all the suffering that is obivously evident in American and across the globe.
